Maiara Walsh is a filmmaker and actress with roots in Seattle and Sao Paulo. She began her career as an actress, appearing in popular TV shows like Cory in the House, The Vampire Diaries, and Good Trouble. Alongside acting, Maiara nurtured her passion for music, performing, and creating immersive experiences in Los Angeles.
Her creativity led her to writing and directing. In 2017, she directed her first short film, Young Blood, winning Best Director at JellyFest in Los Angeles. Maiara recently completed production on her first feature film, a psychological thriller set for release in 2025, which she co-wrote, starred in, and produced alongside producers and actors Mark Hapka and Cameron Cowperthwaite. Maya Stojan also starred. She is currently in pre-production on an action comedy series titled FML.
Maiara founded Dream Co DTLA, a 4000 square foot creative studio in Los Angeles, to foster collaboration among artists. Though she has since shifted her focus entirely to filmmaking, her commitment to building community remains strong.
Beyond her creative pursuits, Maiara is dedicated to philanthropic work, supporting human rights causes, mental health, and volunteering with various organizations. Her experiences have deepened her understanding of global issues, further enriching her storytelling.
